Dear Valued Customer,

As an owner of the Dirt Devil brand, I am confident you recognize that Dirt Devil is committed to delivering superior and safe products for your cleaning needs.

It has recently come to our attention that if the interior pieces of the Turbo Tool/Power Brush break during use, the pieces could potentially be ejected from the tool housing and could pose a laceration hazard. Dirt Devil has received twelve reports of alleged minor eye and skin injuries, one of which has been reported as a thumb injury.

For your safety, please STOP USING YOUR TURBO TOOL/POWER BRUSH IMMEDIATELY. Then, follow the steps below to determine whether your Turbo Tool/Power Brush needs to be repaired. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR UPRIGHT VACUUM CLEANER, ONLY THE TURBO TOOL ATTACHMENT. Therefore, you may continue using your vacuum as you normally do, just without the Turbo Tool/Power Brush attachment.

Only certain production batches are affected by this issue. To determine if your Turbo Tool/Power Brush is safe for use or needs to be repaired, please follow these steps:

Step 1:
Check the model number of your Dirt Devil upright vacuum. The model number is located on the back date plate on the lower part of your vacuum.

If your model number is NOT listed below, your Turbo Tool/Power Brush does not require service and is safe for use.

If your model number is listed below, please stop using your Turbo Tool/Power Brush immediately and continue to Step 2.
